SPEECH THERAPY ASSESSMENT

The Speech therapy (ST) assessments are conducted to identify a child’s strengths and challenges regarding their articulation/speech, receptive and expressive language skills, social communication, and cognitive communication.

The ST assessment can explore the following areas: 

  • Receptive language
  • Expressive language
  • Social communication (Pragmatic skills)
  • Cognitive communication
  • Articulation Fluency

  What is Included:

  • A minimum of 2 standardised tests
  • Detailed clinical observations in a naturalistic (non-testing) setting

What is the Process? 

  1. An initial parent consultation. Prior to the appointment, parents or caregivers will be given both a Child History Form to complete.
  2. A face-to-face assessment of the child (approximately two hours).
  3. A full report is provided approximately two weeks later.
  4. A parent meeting for discussion of the assessment results, following receipt of the report.
